Maddy K Real Weddings...

With so many social marketing tools to take care of, we sometimes neglect to update our blog with our latest work... our FB Fanpage is full of photos however our blog readers hardly ever get to see the outcome of our hard work... so for the next few posts, I will be sharing some of our real weddings done recently and of course if you would like to see the full portfolio of that particular wedding, you would be able to do so on our FB Fanpage!

The first wedding is Joanna and Kevin. They got married in May. The Ceremony was at the Notre Dame de Basilica Chapel followed by an intimate ceremony at the Nelligan. It was a destination wedding for the couple who were from Toronto, and got 80 of their close friends and family to join them.

The concept was black and white with a hint of blue...the flowers mixes of hydrangeas created by our very own floral designer Vicki S. and the tables were adorned by crystal chandeliers that glittered all night long!!! This special moments of this wedding was captured by non other than Christina Esteban who always does a great job!!!

A Nautical Reception

In Montreal, we are so blessed to have a large variety of places, scenery, and activities. Couples are that much more blessed because the possibilities are practically endless when it comes to wedding ceremony and reception ideas.

Coming soon to theaters near you, a romantic comedy "The Proposal" featuring Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds.

The Proposal features a high-powered book editor (Sandra Bullock) who faces deportation to Canada when her working Visa is declined - actually declares that she is engaged to her assistant who she has tormented and stressed out for years;
Naturally her assitant (Ryan Renolds) goes along with it so that he is not out of a job.
While visiting his family in Alaska, the always-in-control city girl find herself in a fish-out-of-water situation with his quirky family.

The director of The Proposal also directed one of our favourite movies, "27 Dresses" So we are really excited what she has instore for us this time! We've been invited to the sneak preview of The Proposal so we will definitely be writing a review about this one!!!

The movie is scheduled to be in theaters June 19th.

Movies We Love!

With the weather going from hot to cold, sunny to raining, we've had some time to look some of our favorite movies! There are so many movies out there with weddings as their central theme, making it almost a right of passage for every bride. Naturally almost every "wedding" movie is a romantic comedy, but some even have a place in the best movie category. 
My Big Fat Geek Wedding, for example, won lots of awards and gained global recognition! Both brides and grooms can enjoy this film!

The Wedding Signer is a typical Adam Sandler film with a romantic twist - very nostalgic. 

Our favorite: Father of the Bride - it's an AMAZING movie and I think made everyone tear up just a little - it also showcases how much weddings can cost and the stress in planning!

So go ahead, rent a wedding movie, indulge! - we won't tell!

Eco-Chick is not only in this season, it’s here to stay! Do your part while planning and decorating your wedding by incorporating eco-friendly elements into the reception. With Earth Day on April 22nd isn’t now the best time to think green?

Our suggestions...
Lighting: Typically receptions are held at restaurants, reception halls, or even on patios. Ask the location if they’d be willing to exchange their lighting for candles. It’s romantic and really sets the mood as well as saves energy!
Wedding Favors: Think glass, aluminum, recycled paper, and even bamboo. We’ve found some great ideas online, like potted plants, votive candles with cinnamon or bamboo attached. All are recyclable and reusable!
Table settings.: We found these great place setting holders made of bamboo. You can really get creative with table settings, think rocks, or anything else for that matter!

Idea like these are fun, unique, and most importantly good for the environment!
